Reportes MP: A Citizen's Tool to Report Extortion and Violence Against Women

Reportes MP is an Android application developed by SICOMP Ministerio Público that allows Guatemalan citizens to report extortion and violence against women. The app enables users to report extortion to the Ministry of Public Prosecution anonymously or with personal details, which will help eradicate phone extortion in Guatemala. Users can also report incidents of violence against women with multimedia content such as photos, videos, and audio notes. Women who register in the app will have access to the panic button for immediate assistance from the National Civil Police.

In the general options section, users can find relevant information about violence against women and extortion in Guatemala, as well as information about the nearest help points. The app's extortion report section allows users to identify calls from reported extortion numbers and receive alerts when a call could be from an extortionist. Users can record calls and send them to the Ministry of Public Prosecution for investigation. The violence against women report section requires registration for data validation by the Ministry of Public Prosecution and provides immediate assistance through the panic button when necessary.
